A Day in the Life of a 7-month old

Have you always wondered what a baby does all day (ie, what I as a SAHM do all day)? This is your lucky day!
  • Wake up in the morning between 6:30 - 7 AM
  • Watch daddy have breakfast
  • Bottle
  • Play for a bit
  • Morning nap (1-2 hrs)
  • Bottle
  • Go to activity for the day (Gymboree, Kindermusik, Babytime at the library, playdate, playgroup... we try to get out everyday even if it's just do run errands, or visit the office as it happened today)
  • Come home and have a bottle
  • Play in playroom (1-2 hrs)
  • Bottle
  • Afternoon nap (2-3 hrs)
  • Bottle
  • Play or afternoon walk
  • Daddy comes home
  • Dinner time - dinner is whatever mommy and daddy are having within reason (no honey, nuts, processed, overly salted foods)
  • Bath or bedtime routine (diaper change, PJs, story)
  • Bottle
  • Evening nap (around 8 PM for 2-3 hrs)
  • Bottle
  • Sleep for the night - usually down until morning, or wake for a bottle ~ 4:30 AM

Seven monthiversary

This was a big month for eating! Caitlin got her bottom two teeth and has really started to explore the World of Food:

Food:(lovin' it
banana (puree)
banana (chunk)
sweet potato puree
carrot puree
turnip puree
butternut squash puree
avocado
red pepper
cheerios
cantaloupe
mum mums
big mac

She now has the coordination to go from sitting to tummy without face planting too badly (or at least, she got used to it so she doesn't cry about it anymore).  She hates lying on her back and insists on staying up as long as possible in a mini crunch when I try to put her there.  And a milestone for both of us: we went to our first-ever baptism for her friend Eden.  oh church.

(just kidding about the big mac).

The melon aftermath

We've given up on giving Caitlin purees since she seems to hate them (who can blame her?) and she has been showing huge interest in self feeding.  So we started giving her food in big chunks that she can hold on to and use those two little teeth to gum on.  She's tried banana, broccoli, and red pepper so far.

Tonight we gave Caitlin what appeared to be very ripe melon.  She definitely ended up wearing more than she ate!

Advil is hilarious!

Everything is awesome to a baby.  That's why babies are awesome.
